To accompany KPF's architectural proposals, Battle McCarthy were asked to propose a landscape strategy that celebrates Abu Dhabi's character as a 'garden state', while creating a powerful and evocative landscape to compliment the airport, in a sustainable and sympathetic manner.

Any proposals by Battle McCarthy had to be considerate of the clients desires in the obtaining of an internationally recognisable, contemporary and signatory gateway to Abu Dhabi.

The opportunity to shape millions of peoples first impressions of an entire country is not one that arises often, however that is exactly what this exciting opportunity presented.
