Queensboro Bridge provides vehicle and pedestrian access between Manhattan and Queens, over the East River.
The bridge is twin deck and runs in a north-west/south-east direction. The elevated bridge structure continues on the east side of the river. The elevated roadways on the bridge come down to ground level, and the train line between Manhattan and Queens which runs below the East River surfaces further east into Queens. The space below and either side of the bridge structure is to be regenerated, to provide more pleasant condictions for pedestrian and other users.
