OKHTA CENTRE, GAZPROM HEADQUARTERS, ST. PETERSBURG, RUSSIA

Client: Gazprom
Architect: RMJM
BM Services: Building Services Engineering
Contract Dates: -
Project Value: £303 million

From a building services viewpoint there are two features to the Okhta Centre development: expressing Gazprom's concern for the environment and the company's dedication to the comfort of their employees.

A double skin concept has been implemented for maximal heat loss reduction. This approach creates a series of 'buffer zones', which can be utilised to achieve an effective, year-round, natural ventilation system and thermal insulation. These areas have been converted into three to four storey 'sky gardens' for the benefit of the users of the building.
