John Ducke
Associate: Building Services Engineer and Lighting Designer

 

John is a professional Building Services Engineer and Lighting Designer with over twenty years’ experience in the construction sector.

His formative years were spent at Arup, Rybka Battle and Maurice Brill, where he worked as part of multi-disciplinary teams delivering a number of successful projects by world-renowned architects, including Will Alsop, Terry Farrell, RHWL, Nicholas Grimshaw, Michael Squires, SOM and HOK.

John has produced work for a broad range of projects including offices, factories, sports facilities, housing developments, hotels and retail outlets both in the UK and abroad.

His extensive engineering and lighting design experience allows him to effectively understand and anticipate the technical and commercial considerations and associated with the build, and enables him to effectively take a project forward from initial concept design stage through to practical completion.

As an Associate, John is primarily responsible for the management of several major projects ranging in value from £30 million to £300 million typically. His natural ability to communicate and exchange ideas with other members of the design and construction teams allows him to make informed and practical decisions that aid the development and production of deliverables, ensuring that the client’s brief and expectations are met.

John is in charge of Battle McCarthy’s Electrical Department. As well as overseeing the natural progression of projects within the department, he makes sure the standard of employed candidates matches that of the practice.
