McCarthy is a multi-disciplinary engineering and landscape architecture
consultancy that specialises in the design and delivery of sustainable
solutions for the built environment. We have a proven track record of
producing award-winning low energy designs that bring people and nature
closer together.
We are looking for a Senior Public Health
Engineer with at least 7 years post qualification experience, and
suitability qualified to the field of public health engineering
services.
Suitable candidates must be proficient in the following in order to produce drawings and carry out design calculations: You will also need to have an excellent understanding of public health engineering and be able to work without supervision.
Design of all public health systems including: - Food, waste and rainwater below/above ground,
- Hot and cold water systems,
- Fire systems (wet/dry riser, sprinkler, hose reels etc)
- Gas supply.
- Some knowledge of medical gas systems
Sustainability
is a major part of Battle McCarthy’s structure and the candidate must
be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the following
without supervision:
- Water efficient design, including rainwater collection for reuse in buildings, irrigation etc.,
- Grey water treatment for reuse,
- Solar panel collection and use for hot water systems;
- Borehole collection and use for heat recovery.
The
successful candidate will work on a number of high profile projects
both in the UK and abroad, including mixed use multi-storey buildings,
and may be required to travel abroad for short periods of time.
The
successful candidate will need to be familiar with the relevant UK
design codes and ideally will have experience with adhering to overseas
building codes. The candidate must also be fully conversant with the
recommendations and best practices relating to public health
engineering services, and be fluent in English.
