Jamie leads the sustainability group at BattleMcCarthy. He has extensive knowledge of many aspects of building design having previously worked as a structural engineer for Buro Happold for 7 years after completing his postgraduate studies.
Jamie has a wide-ranging background in sustainable design and structural engineering. Previous to joining Battle McCarthy he worked on the award winning £100m British Museum Great Court project, the £20m Institute of Cancer Research, Huntley Street London, and the £10m Glasgow Wing Tower. In 1999 he won the John Barrett Prize (IStructE young engineer of the year) for his design of a carbon fibre pedestrian bridge over the River Severn.
Since joining Battle McCarthy in 2002 he has built on his experience in structures and materials and now leads BM Sustainability. With BM he has led a number of highly renowned sustainable developments including Abu Dhabi International Airport, Venture East Development, Birmingham and a new sustainable masterplan for Lingfield Point, Darlington.
Jamie has extensive experience of both BREEAM and LEED and runs a team of BREEAM qualified engineers. |
