Christopher McCarthy has had over 20 years experience in the design and supervision on a wide range of projects in the UK and the Middle East, including 12 years spent as a senior Structural Engineer leading the Structural Design in a Multi-disciplined Building Engineering group. He is a founding partner in the Multi-disciplinary Consulting Engineering practice Battle McCarthy, after working for Ove Arup & Partners for 13 years. He works freely between engineering disciplines, in the pursuit for knowledge and understanding of the interaction between Structure and Environment.

Christopher McCarthy has trained as a sculptor and has demonstrated his creative abilities on a number of major structural projects. Christopher McCarthy has also been a senior visiting lecturer in Sculpture, Architecture and Interior Design and Industrial Design at the Royal College of Art.
