Dynamic Thermal Analysis
· Using EDSL Tas

Solar Analysis
· Using Ecotect combined with ImageJ and Stoik Video Converter
· Solar shadow mapping
· Permanent overshadowing analysis
· Solar Animations
· View from sky analysis

Daylight Analysis
· Ecotect and Radiance capabilities
· Ecotect VSC method (automated by script)

Climate Analysis
· Meteonorm and Excel based
· Psychrometry
· Weather data manipulation - e.g. Evaporative Cooling modelling
· Identification of opportunities for bioclimatic design strategies
· Management of Weather Database

Airmovement Analysis
Phoenix

Wind
Knowledge of the characteristics of airmovement around buildings
Working knowledge of wind tunnel testing

Renewable Energy Analysis
· GLA Toolkit, PV Yield etc
· Some use of RetScreen Analysis software
· Generation of Excel Tools to perform tasks

Wind Analysis
· Ability to interpret results from BM short fetch wind tunnel, using particle erosion method
· Presentation of Wind Tunnel Results - specific Image J / Photoshop method
· CFD for wind using Phoenics 3.5.1
· Animations from Phoenics using ScreenRecordster

Masterplan Analysis
· Daylight, solar, noise, pollution

All candidates need to have good working knowledge of the following

Excel with some macros - advanced
PowerPoint
Word
Photoshop - advanced
Ability to convey design guidance visually by sketching
Concept massing, form, orientation, shading design
Ability to write reports quickly and accurately and to review the work of colleagues
